LADIES ONLY!!!

ok ladies so i've recently started dating and while i am not the permiscuous type i still would like to be prepared...so what i'm wondering is that besides condoms...what forms of birth control are you using??? i'm going to the girly doctor in a couple of weeks and would just like to know what's working for you all.

well, i just use yaz birth control pills. they are working so far (knock on wood!)  I'm kind of paranoid though and was thinking about the shot, but i hear a lot of people gain weight on it, and i realllly don't want that!

yeah that is what concerns me about the shot too but i am so bad at remebering to take a pill cause i've been on the pill before but its so hard to keep up with

With being newly post-op you should be using 2 forms of birth control untill you are out of the 18 month window. The fast WL throws hormones off BAD.  So you cannot fully trust birth control. I use the nuva ring (no worries about any malabsorption issues like there can be with pills, this does apply to the RNY and DS) not including its pretty hassel free and no worring about taking a pill everyday. But the choice is yours.

I set the alarm on my phone so I remember to take my Seasonale every day. With this type of birth control I only get my period 4 times a year and it is very light when I do get it. I love it! DO NOT try the shot. I went on it 3 years ago and gained A TON of weight, it was terrible.

I use the NUVARING,  you just put it in once a month and wala!  You take it out when its time for your period, Or if you want to skip it  (which you know you shouldnt do but you can) just put a new one in immediatly.  I love it! I used to always forget my pills. 

Oh an i did take the shot back in the day, and it made me gain weight and go crazy.

Yeah, I with She - I took Depo too and I gained hella weight from it.  I'm on Yaz and it works for me.

Is the Nuva-ring hard to put in/get out?  I thought about switching to something else because the pills arent working anymore..
